Sunday, 11/15 - This was after we arrived home from Story City... Lydia had made this 'turkey hunter hat' at school, and that's what she was starting Friday after school, a turkey hunter! She even wore it to Jody's house, while we were at Jody's house but we did manage to get it off of her to sleep ;) This will play into one of her gifts later on... watch and see ;)
Her birthday morning!
That night, Grammy and Papa Jim came over for dinner... and Grammy made this awesome cake!!!
Opening presents...
And then last but not least... King Dad had a gift for Lydia :D
The turkey hunter got her bow!!
And Grammy is ridiculously talented ;)
Happy birthday to our sweet and funny 6-year-old :D
Mimi & Pap showed up on Wednesday for a quick visit... and we let the girls skip school on Friday! Went to the mall and it started snowing :) just like they said it would...
Girls were ecstatic... but that meant for a really rough drive for Mimi & Pap when they left on Saturday... I obviously did a terrible job taking pictures while they were here! They drove out in the storm to make it to Indianapolis in time for Dad's last Harvest Land dinner/reception where he was recognized for retiring... (Mimi, I'd love to put that in here :)
We split up to cover all the errands faster. Big girls came with me to Barnes & Noble and the little girls went with Mimi & Pap to the mall!
And this is what it looked like when they left!!
They made it! Here was Pap getting recognized by Harvest Land
After they left the girls helped make this happen! Lydia's first friend birthday party :) It was SO NICE to have their help :)
King Dad coaxed LeaAnn to snuggle with him for just a bit... and they were both OUT :)
so sweet...
And then the girls started to arrive!
Lauren & Lindsay made sure this happened :) despite the snow...
Aren't they sweet?!?
With the big girls :)
Was great except it took a LOT to get them all undressed and all 11 pairs of mittens, boots and hats arranged and drying so we could find it all again :)
But then they did this! The big girls helped all 11 little girls dress up and get 'beautified' for the dress-up show!
And this was the end result! :D
I was impressed (but I guess not surprised ;) that we had enough dress up stuff for 11 little girls!!!
Here are a few videos from their 'show' - the introductions
the show
LeaAnn :)
Decided the cake was just too cute not to use again at her party.. not to mention there was enough cake for 40 people!! :)
Not quite as cute... but still :)
The girls loved it!
Singing happy birthday to Lydia!
Happy birthday girl!
Opening presents
more presents... Great ending to a great day...
The day after... Sunday, 11/22 - enjoying hot chocolate after playing in the snow! Happy birthday sweet girl!!!
