January 2014 odds & ends

Lydia & LeaAnn sat down one day, cut off the pom-poms from one of their hats, glued them to a piece of paper and said, "Look momma! We made a craft!" :) How could I be mad? Those hats are 6-years old! Regardless, it was super cute... and you can see here Lydia writing her name all on her own :)

Here, Lydia wrote a letter to Santa :) She wants duct tape, Squeakers, Stuffy & Lamby (all from Doc McStuffins) and... 2 Lolly-pops :)

The girls playing Spot It... the game Lauren received from Grammy for Christmas! Such a great game... easy, fun and definitely competitive... Sean & Kelsey stopped by the other night and the girls' taught them how to play. It was at that point, Chris & Sean decided it could ALSO be a betting game as well.... of course it can! ;)

One random snowy, cold day here in Iowa... the girls wanted to try and make a snow fort... I actually think this was after their first day of school back from winter break, Wednesday, 1/8/14.

They loved the fact that the snow was so hard they could stand on it ;)

January 24th weekend I believe... LeaAnn dressed herself and told all of her sisters, "let's go outside!" The older two took her up on her offer :)

We had a mess of snow days since winter break... and the week of the 18th through the 24th I spent de-cluttering and cleaning! Drawers, cabinets... the pantry! That was actually  how I started... took 2 huge boxes to Goodwill and 2 boxes downstairs, and now we have ROOM for food in the pantry :) novel concept. Chris even got in on the action that weekend, he did a great job! I still have the games to go through and the two kitchen utensil drawers..... and the basement :) But I'm going to have to keep pushing for that one.
ANYHOW... I also (finally) got a new phone this particular week and took a picture of the girls' room once I was finished... looks nice, huh? To be fair, the girls did spend time going through their stuff, and putting things away... I just put the final touches on it :)

And new rooms are so much fun to play in! :D Here they are playing camping that cold, cold weekend... dreaming of camping I should say. Chris & I count our blessings every day that the girls love & play with each other so well...

And how could I forget! Getting LeaAnn on tape saying the word, "clothes" It is one of her signature statements! (in so many ways ;)

  3. Those beds are awesome!!! Our girls really changed their approach to keeping their room clean when we got new beds for them too. It's something for them to be proud of :) LeaAnn is too cute - I love all those "baby words" :)
