Basketball & Gymnastics

Tuesday, 6/4 through Friday, 6/7 - Basketball camp at Coe College in Cedar Rapids

Lucky for me I've got friends in great places! Maggie found this idea and helped make it possible for my kids to have this awesome opportunity. I had to work on Monday the 3rd and then chose to take a class Tuesday & Wednesday (great class + pay = can't pass up!) but would NOT have been possible (better yet, worth my time) if I would have had to pay $8.50/hr in daycare costs. Maggie to the rescue again :D I owe - big. time. Also included in our carpool group this week was Kelly Lange, her daughter Addie will be in 1st grade at Independence next year. A long time family friend of Maggie's.

So! Here we are on Friday the 7th. All of us mom's drove today and I brought Lydia & LeaAnn as I had used up my daycare costs for the week ;) plus, Barb was closed, plus I knew they'd enjoy.

The girls LOVED the camp. Two thumbs up, definitely want to do it again, and I was highly impressed with how it was run and with Coach Randi Peterson - she did awesome with the girls.

They all got t-shirts and a basketball at the end!

Oh Wiam... just can't wait to be big-enough ;)

To McDonald's with a really big play-land as a treat :) ice-cream and all. Oh yes! Lydia acquired a new nickname this day... Ice Cream Girl! She devoured a whole cone without one drop falling or getting her messy. The whole cone. Amazing :)

Monday, 6/10 through Friday, 6/14 - Moser's gymnastics camp at Edgewood!
Another busy week but the completely worth it as the kids loved it :) Maggie & I took turns taking our kids + Mallory Boggess from 8:15-9:00 for the big kids and 9:30-9:30 for Lydia & Kyle. Here is a picture of Kyle & Lydia at the park that Maggie took on Thursday the 13th... I somehow managed to drive to Story City to attend a conference? Total finagling ... but again, thanks to Maggie (and Chris :) I was able to go. Aren't they so cute?!?

This was random Tuesday, 6/11. Little girls were at Barb's and this is after gymnastics, we ended up in Independence running errands and cleaning out the van! We sent this picture to Chris and told him that they had no idea what happened to their two-6"-subs... they devoured them! :D

On Friday, 6/14 Maggie & I both drove b/c we were allowed to observe the last 10-15 minutes. We took the little ones to the park while we waited to see the big kids... thanks for the pictures Maggie! LeaAnn was all about dressing up to also do 'nymnastics!' :) tutu included... of course.

and here's the results! Lauren working on front limbers...

All the girls really improved from last year and they had a great time. We are maybe looking into gymnastics as well in the fall.

I LOVE this picture! Kyle & Kael watching the big girls :)

Here is Lindsay working on front limbers

Lindsay + everyone

Here we are in the hallway waiting on our turn to watch Lydia & Kyle. Luckily Maggie had a lot of goldfish to share :) These two are pretty funny together, they usually find some common ground and toddle around together :)

Lindsay & Mallory

Lauren (don't you love her hair! She let me do it ;)

We really love these goldfish ;)

And we got to go in :)

Pretty sure there is some great LeaAnn comments in here too ;) Lydia was disappointed that gymnastics was over, she loved putting on her outfit every morning  :)

I love this picture - HUGE bites :) Wish gymnastics could have lasted longer!
