So... not really sure what to say about this other than, I did it. WE did it. It is definitely a personal goal... Maggie was in the 1300's and Maria, I'm guessing at least 1100? I made it to 1013 in 2013 and that's all that matters. I NEVER would have stated that goal, I didn't state that goal, Maria did :) in January of 2013 on Facebook. Big goals like that scare me, b/c I think, 'what if I can't meet the goal'? Basically what I concluded in my mind was, 'why not try?' And so I did.
All was well at the beginning, I was even training with Maggie & Maria in February & March for their 1/2 marathon, and at one point we ran 12-miles on a random Saturday! So I was ahead of schedule by far. And then I was taught a new way to run at the end of March and it sent me into a tailspin of not being able to run for 7-weeks. And I found this... I liked it.
When I came back slowly in August, I thought, well, I'll just go for 750-miles, no way I can reach 1000. But as weeks went by and I kept adding things up, it turned out that if I ran at least 21-miles/week I could reach 1000 by the end of the year. And that's exactly what I did. I met 1000 on Monday, 12/30/13 thanks to Mom agreeing to watch the kids as I ran every single day in Ohio. Why, one might ask why I banked on running in Ohio? Ummm... it wasn't -20 with 20mph winds! That's why! :) I was so thankful that there was no snow and mild temperatures...
My new goal this year is to run 1000 again, run a 1/2 marathon, and take more pictures to document while doing it. Like this one. It was 15-degrees with no wind and sun... it was perfect. We wore our yak-tracks and ran on the gravel. It was a gorgeous 6-mile-run.

And I really love this one b/c it's a perfect description (almost) for a long Saturday run :) I thoroughly enjoy this new found past-time, and when I get down on myself and think, 'it's taking up too much of my time' I just look at my girls and think... I'm doing this for them too. One of my biggest wishes and goals if for all of us to run together someday. So a huge thank you to Lola, Sharon, Barb & Mimi for all the help you have provided while I continue to pursue this personal goal of running. :) xoxo!
