New this year, Lindsay has a real birthday! ;) Now I'm not saying we have not celebrated in the years past. Last year we camped (camping birthday) and the year before that we were in Ohio, but she has yet to have a friend birthday party due to her birthday month is august and the day usually falls on the first day of school. So this year, we put it on the calendar as a must do earlier in the month... and we did! Total success!
We met at the Winthrop park for cake & presents. The girls and I traveled to Waterloo earlier that morning for a stop at HyVee (cake, get balloons and snacks/groceries). We ate lunch and decorated. I was really proud of ourselves, I thought it turned out great and looked very festive :) We even managed to plug in the Ipod dock so we were able to play some tunes.
Love, love, love!
Unbelievable!
And rather than re-enter her birth through year 6 pics, just click here! Lindsay through the years
Cool cake and ridiculously delicious... HyVee cake is so worth the drive :)

You can see here I attempted to video tape as well (camera on peanut can) but haven't checked to see how it turned out :)

She was super cute with all of them

with Andalynn Cabalka
We loaded up the van with everyone and all of our stuff (hence no ice cream ;) stopped at Speede Shop where we ALL went in to use their restrooms, loaded back in the van and took off for the Youth Phelps Pavilion in Waterloo! (Youth Phelps Pavilion)
Super cool children's museum that we have not been too in at least 2-years? I think it's more like 3...
They have tons of activities... anything from milking a cow
to crawling in a cave
planting a garden...
and putting on a play!
Which they did A LOT of...
Lauren was drawing the scenes that are projected onto the stage
and there are SO MANY costumes in the back to choose from
There is also a really cool puppet theater that I did not get pictures of, but even comes complete with sound buttons for laughs, applause, etc, etc.
I believe they were trying to portray different countries :)
Lots of craft activities too, we made really neat pond flowers that I did not get a picture of. I think it wore them out! Here we are getting ready to leave.
Here we are on Lindsay's actual birthday Monday, 8/19. This was the day after they got back from their week long trip to Ohio! (Will get to that next ;) The girls really wanted to just stay at home (I didn't blame them) so Ashley Benton came over. We let her open her presents before we left for work (it was my first official day with kids). Thanks Mimi for the purse & $ (for future Ipod) :D
And ta-da! Caroline, the American Girl doll + book set from mom & dad.
That night we drove to Manchester for pizza at Pizza Hut! Here is the birthday girl asking for crayons :)
Grammy & Papa Jim joined us as well! :D How cute is this??
Ashley & the girls made cupcakes that day so we could sing to her again!
a trip to the quarter-machines, a definite :)
Grandpa inquiring about Chris' job...
and the girls waiting 'patiently' ;)
super-fast LeaAnn!
And to complete her birthday celebrations, Lindsay went shopping with Grammy in Waterloo. They stopped at a fabric store to pick out fabric for a matching skirt for Linds & Caroline, and a quick spin around the mall so Lindsay could spend $5 how she wanted ;)
Thanks Grammy for the super-special trip and happy 7th birthday Lindsay Rae!
