The week of September 23rd was kind of a blur... Tuesday the 24th we had an appointment at University of Iowa hospitals with a neuro-surgeon to see what his opinion was of the lipoma that was found in Lauren's brain. The lipoma was found from an MRI we had done the previous Thursday b/c Lauren's blurry vision had not gone away.
He basically dismissed us with a wave of his hand.. yes, it's a lipoma, benign, no we would not remove it, no we can not remove it (so good thing it is benign), and I have no idea why she is having blurry vision, they are not related at all. I walked out sort of in a daze, relieved I guess? But still very confused. Chris left for Nodaway after the appointment for the week, and Mimi came out on Wednesday the 25th. Yeah Mimi! :D
Friday the 27th I headed out for a quick stop at the Williamsburg Outlet Mall (yippie!) and then I drove to Des Moines where I met Chris for our adult weekend, thanks to New Balance Commodities! Pap drove out on the motorcycle (!?) yes, he's crazy like that... but he made it safely, and so thankful he did. The kids are great, but it's still mass chaos at all times... just super nice to have 2 sets of hands around. Makes taking care of the kids just that much more enjoyable. :D
The following pictures are all from Mimi's phone of the whole weekend... and I'm so glad she took them. What great shots ... wish I had had my head in the game on Sunday, I should have been snapping away :) Regardless, the kids had an awesome time and Chris & I were so thankful for the weekend get-a-way.
Lauren with pillow made by Donna Hayes & rainbow-zebra-striped bag from Mimi filled with skittles, journal, a picture of Lauren & King Dad. Gerald & Janet Fangman also gave Lauren a gift-certificate to Pizza Hut... everyone was so thoughtful!
Look at LeaAnn's cheese here... I mean, can she get any cuter?!?
Pink outfits from Mimi! They did want to know where the skirts were though ;)
Chicken-n-dumplings with Pap :)
A walk after dinner...
to eat soybeans of course :)
Yup... she dressed herself :)
Playing hide-n-seek in the tress :)
Saturday, September 28th
Glenda the Good Witch! Hope I can talk to her into that outfit for Halloween :)
Pap moved the horse swing... THANK YOU Pap! I was so hoping he would do that for us :D
Think these pictures do justice to how much she LOVED this swing?
Nope...
Take a listen to this video!!!
Buttercup the cow has been getting out for oh... weeks now :( and she knocked down Lydia's pear tree :*(
They decided to quick jump in the van and head to Sherman's Pumpkin Patch before lunch...
And good thing they did! It rained started to rain when they went to BK for lunch, and basically never quit.
I guess LeaAnn loved these guys :)
Loved them so much she had to give him a big 'ol kiss! :D
That afternoon... reading :)
Doing cartwheels...
and dancing to the Wii :)
She went for it! LeaAnn finally dressed 'up'... Lydia now Dorothy.
Mimi tried... LeaAnn lasted 10-minutes... 10-minutes longer than I ever get out of her ;)
Sunday the 29th... craft time. They LOVED it.
Washing the van and bikes :)
We arrived home, and Mom got out the kites she found at Bed, Bath & Beyond. The tails of them were so cool!
Love this one :)
Aunt Dawn said on FB, "It just makes sense to lie down" and it totally does! :D
Like Lydia's leg-cross ;)
Monday, September 30th - Western Day to celebrate the end of the money celebration/assembly :)
