We decided to give camping another go-round the weekend of September 8th...and so glad we did! It was absolutely gorgeous weather! Maggie & I took advantage of it Saturday morning and went on a run, down Early Stagecoach Rd and turned onto Candle Rd where we passed this amazing horse farm, Coffins Creek Belgians with beautiful horses grazing in the pastures. The man, presumably the owner, who we later found out was Randy Fiddelke, was outside as we ran past... we waved and a little later Maggie said, "think we should ask him if we can bring the kids back later?" We agreed to ask if he was still outside when we were running back, and he was! He said, "how about 1:00pm?" And at 1pm, we were there... all 18 of us :)
11 kids and 7 adults... we were only missing Craig who went home to do chores. Her name was Independence I believe... she sure was sweet.
Still gets me every time... their soft noses, and how they smell... just heavenly :)
And they were HUGE! This one had won her class at the Iowa State Fair that year...girls said her name was Payton.
She was so quiet... let all the kids pet her.
LeaAnn has a special place for animals in her heart! And this enormous animals were no different to her :)
She wasn't scared a bit..
Wish I could have gotten this on video... Payton snorted and put her head down, LeaAnn squealed :)
Outside looking at Fiona and her new foal.
This 'baby' was born in May!!! Only 4 months old...
Look who pushed her way up front :)
Randy was sweet to pick her up..
I think we need a horse ;)
Heading out and the boys found the haystack :)
Super sweet of Kreighton & Lindsay walking hand-in-hand.
Back at the campsite... kids made their very own pond!
How clever of them ;)
They accomplished their mission of making sure every stitch of clothing was dirty :)
Wiam opted for the 'forgotten' bag of Doritos ...
yum!
Loved how they decided to 'feed' the cows :)
grilling supper.. it was such a beautiful day!!
Carter & Clay... ready to rock-n-roll!
