The sky looked like this several times throughout our visit (thanks for the awesome pic Mimi!) The storms didn't last long, but those poor guys who were in charge of the lounge chairs & umbrellas had to take everything down & put it all away for the short storms... and then put everything back out all over again. They were in tip-top-shape to say the least ;)
And so due to the rain, the indoor pool is where we started on this particular day. Awesome to have the indoor pool as an option, however, the chlorine in this pool did not agree w/the girls... burning eyes, burning skin. But it did the trick for a while :) This was also the day that I took off my rings, put them on a table to put sunscreen on someone, and a baby evidently picked them up and was trying to play with them. Who was there to save the day? Why Lydia of course. And then after I realized that I was still missing one, Lydia was there to explain the entire situation and then be the one to actually find it on the ground! She's something I tell you...
And so we eventually did make our way to the beach for some gorgeous sunshine!
And calm waters...
amazing how much is ocean resembled a pool on so many occasions...
no complaints here!
Mimi & Pap disappeared, only to come back with a canoe!
And the kids quickly scrambled ... "I'm next! I'm next!"
Lindsay & Carson doing all the work :)
Lauren & Elle's turn
And then Chris & I took the little two out. It was a little scary & really cool all at the same time b/c you could see the bottom the whole time. And all the fish too!
We headed in somewhat early... Carson trying to take a quick cat-nap ;)
Cooking dinner & on the phone... a multi-talented super-dad :D
B/c we had family pictures! Mom's birthday present from Donnie & I and I think they turned out great! (this post is in August - click here to see them again - Koontz family beach pictures)
I tried to get individual pics of the girls and they didn't really turn out. It was just gorgeous out and I thought the professional pics turned out really well. It's harder than it looks to make the lighting work!
We took the kids to the grocery to get ice cream & cones... they did just awesome for the pics. And I mentioned to Chris, we should go out! We're all dressed up... we should go. We ended up at the Florabama bar and just happened to walk into Jason Justice & the Hung Jury playing... WOW. They were awesome!! I wrote the name of the band down so I don't forget it! I will definitely look them up again next time we go :D The visit inspired us so much that we went 2 more times :)
Here the kids are in Mimi & Pap's room before bed that night...

love, love, love…(& much better pics of me on this day than day 5!)
