Lindsay Rae turns 9!!

Wednesday, 8/19/15

The birthday girl!! All summer after our canoeing trip on the 4th of July, I wanted to take just the big girls canoeing, b/c they did such a great job. We planned it out weeks in advance to do this on her birthday... and would you believe me if I told you it was a high of 55-degrees, rainy and windy... on AUGUST 19th? Well that's what it was!! I seriously thought about calling it off, but this birthday girls' face dropped... I told Maggie & Sara they didn't have too, but they were troopers and stuck it out as well :) The birthday girl featured here doing what she loves best... reading. Currently on the 5th book in the Harry Potter series, she loves them.

I kept thinking... it won't be that bad... it won't rain

I was so. wrong.

But these girls were all smiles and complete troopers!

Yes, that's a stocking hat on Laynee... I wish I had one!

We were stocked with candy and suckers galore, packed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, they were happy as cold clams ;)

We made it, came home, showered up (to warm up) and Grammy & Papa came over for dinner and the requested cake... chocolate with coconut frosting and rolos on top... and it had to be the best cake ANY of us have ever had! Awesome job Grammy :D

She was pretty happy about it :)

Singing happy birthday

And the friend birthday party was on Thursday, August 20th. We went to the Falls in Cedar Falls.. despite, the once again, cool temperatures :) and again, these fabulous girls didn't mind a bit!

Oh and these girls were SO HAPPY to be included in their big sis' birthday celebration...

So thank you sweet birthday girl, for letting them be a part of your day

Love this picture :)

I'm getting chills just looking at this.. it was not warm at all...

But, they really didn't mind :)

They were doing dances while jumping off the high dive :) so cute. Can you see Laynee singing?

I took a gazillion of these trying to get them at just the right time as they came out of the tube :)

Stopped at HyVee, got her cake and came home to a beautiful evening!

Opening presents...

And last but not least, singing happy birthday again to the always sweet, always helpful, with the biggest heart around, Ms. Lindsay Rae. We love you Linds!

  1. looked like one wonderful birthday celebration, despite the weather Lindsay! Great action shots in that cool pool. Those girls were all so brave-from braving the cold to jumping off that high dive!
