camping at Bailey's Ford

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

After spending the 4th camping at Delaware County Fairgrounds we headed to Bailey's Ford south of Manchester. Craig & I unexpectedly pulled both campers over on Thursday morning after Chris & Kris went to work :D  We found the perfect spots and I didn't want to risk losing them, so Craig was kind enough to help us out! B/t the two of us and our 6 kids, we had plenty of help :)

I was excited to try this campground again... the last time we were here, it was our first ever camping venture with our very own camper, LeaAnn was 3-months old, the gnats were terrible... I was just looking to have a better experience ;) And as it turns out, we did!

Here is Craig & Kris' camper... notice LeaAnn climbing onto the picnic table w/her blanket ;)

And here is what LeaAnn looked like last year! ;) 6/3/11 - on her 3-month birthday

Here was the 4 of them on our maiden voyage... Lydia 18-1/2mo, Lauren 6-1mo, LeaAnn 3-mo & Lindsay 4-9mo

Back to the present - here we are this year :)  Carter joined us for pancakes too!

Hogan's were also on this trip, nine kids in all :D

After breakfast we started wading in the trout stream that the park stocks twice/week! Also a cool side-note is that the stream stays the same temperature year-round & never freezes. The water to put it bluntly, was beyond cold. Our feet went numb while walking ;) But when it's 95-degrees outside, 50-degree water feels pretty good.

And the kids don't mind what temp the water is!

Well I take that back, LeaAnn did :) and preferred to be held the whole time.

Craig helped all the kids through a tricky part

Brady almost lost his shoe in some mud :)

Found a trail and took a little hike... really pretty. Had to throw this picture in, can you see the sweat on Chris' back?  Carrying an-almost-30-lb kid around gets to be pretty taxing on the body ;)  We all took turns eventually.

Ate lunch, laid the peeps down who needed a nap and headed to the beach! The river water felt like bath water in comparison to the stream.

Sand castles & mud pies a plenty :)

Levi hanging out in his car, he would stay there all day! Isn't he a dolly?

Carter being silly :)

I had to keep walking LeaAnn up & down the beach (Chris was choring) and I got to snap what our beach party looked like :)

Kids came a following...

Trying to get LeaAnn to 'hang-out' ;)

Lydia enjoying her snack-spot :) she pushed the stroller out (or tried too) all on her own. Hey, if big people are doing it, so can I, right??

Brady caught a minow.

Craig trying to help Lydia fish

Lauren relaxing :D

Headed back for dinner and Grammy & Papa Jim decided to join us for dinner! Brought us sweet-corn too!

Guess who loved it? ;)

That night we decided to try and hose the girls off... and here they are enjoying the feeling of being free of clothes! :D And giggling up a storm...

They were being so sweet & silly :)  Chris insisted I get out the camera.

Kisses all around! We had a fabulous time & can't wait to go back!
