the Halloween celebrations begin...

Saturday, 10/25/14

The Monti Halloween party was our first celebration of the season! Last year it was on Sunday from 11am-1pm... and though a little daunting to have on a Sunday, I really appreciate the later time! This year, back on a Saturday, we all were up at 6:15am starting to get ready. If Lola would not have come over to get Lauren ready, I don't know what I would have done!

Included finger nail painting...

and a fake wig to spray-paint! Genius Lola! Honestly, I hadn't thought of any of this! But leave it to the witch herself to know exactly how to make yourself look like a real witch!

Thank you, thank you!! Lauren's favorite was the black tooth! She's going to put it on for school too she loved it so much ;)

But it's come A LONG WAY from this kind of "I don't want my picture taken!" What a circus... nothing short of it. 6-1/2, 5, 2 & 6-months... holy cow.

Back to the present :)
We even made it to Monti by 8:35am! I was so impressed... never before. Just a testament to the girls getting older... it's pretty amazing.

We had a great time at the party... finally figured out how to make the sound system work so we had music the whole time which was a nice touch :)

2011 - Lauren & Frankie are 6-1/2 here and Lindsay is 5... almost the same age as Lydia right now...

The group... Why in the world we've never done this before I don't know, but glad we did it this year :)

Overall we had a great turn-out, more people last year on a Sunday... maybe we'll have to go back to that.

Kids loved it... hard to keep the little ones focused on directions, but still they have a great time w/it.

The costumes continued on into dance on Monday night... :)

And I threw this one in b/c it was also a Halloween-ish celebration :) the Zombie Run in Independence on Saturday, 10/19. It was really fun... they said it was more scary last year (ie: monsters coming out of the corn?!) The corn was picked this year thank goodness and it was more like playing flag-football :) Maggie & myself ended up with no flags so we blocked for Sara & Maria... it really was a fun time!
