Mimi & Pap visit

As I mentioned before, the recital weekend would not have gone very smoothly without Mimi & Pap in Iowa, and here's proof! :D

They arrived on Friday, this was the morning of Saturday, 5/2.  Mimi brought big playing cards & card holders :) What I did not get pictures of also on this day was swinging, bike riding and flying kites (thanks Pap for finding them!) though he did thank me for having them all untangled and laying in the basement :))

Oh yes, and soccer! What a day ... still have yet to take pics of soccer... will put that on the top of the to-do list! Dad, Mimi & Pap took Lauren & Lindsay to Independence, had to be there by 11:30. This is the only day the girls were scheduled to be in the same place (and double lucky) at the same time! They came home around 2:30 and the hair & make-up x 4 started :)

Crazy 8 I believe :)

Sunday, 5/3... more cards!

It was a pretty day, but again windy... here is Mimi & Pap entertaining again, asking about lunch!

A little softball..

Invited Grammy & Papa Jim over for dinner that night, and we cooked a feast! Pork loin, rolls, asparagus, jello, Jeanette's yummy Italian bread and for dessert, homemade strawberry/rhubarb pie (Lauren made the crusts!) & rhubarb crisp... delicious, every last bite!

And croquet! I found the set hanging when I went in the garden shed looking for something, and I decided to set it up...

Really glad I did because everyone had a great time!

And it's been so long since we've played it... Chris & I did at Jody & Brent's last year... we need to more often :)

Yup, she climbed up there all by herself... boots on the wrong feet and all ;)

I adore her 'trot'

Some things haven't changed :)

This is when LeaAnn & Lydia kind of peeled out... so it ended up that I took the little girls in at 8:15, and the big girls finished the game with Grammy, Papa, Mimi, Pap and Dad and came in at 9:15! I never would have thought they'd finish the game, so happy they did :)

And LeaAnn did this earlier in the day! I bet she has it by the end of the summer! Again, thank you Mom & Dad for everything! It was a super special weekend...

  1. So much fun to 're-live' the weekend! (the food we were discussing was for our "train trip"!)
