Ohio visit #2 July 2015

Sunday, July 19th, 2015

And though I don't think anyone got sick on Mimi in the middle of that night (that had happened the previous 2 nights.. I've got huge shoes to fill, and not sure how I'm going to fill them ;) I'm pretty sure she, nor did LeaAnn sleep that well.  And it was a shame, b/c we had a big day ahead of us on Sunday... that started out with ... boating! In the suburban, on the way to Brookville Lake in Indiana, just outside of Oxford, Ohio.

A lake I went to quite a few times growing up.. in this exact boat :)

This whole 'ordeal' started by me asking Dad if he would ask Dave if he could get his boat out of storage, fix it, clean it, and take the girls & I boating, so I could attempt to teach the girls how to ski. Though not Mimi's favorite job, she did awesome!

It's no small feat to learn to ski, and it takes many attempts to get up, lots of turn arounds, patience, and mostly... just a lot of time doing nothing else but watching someone learn :)

Aside from not having our own boat, we also don't have a lake close to us (yet!), and those who go boating on the Mississippi don't ski. So asking people who don't ski, to take you & your children skiing is ... well, it's not ;)

So, I asked my Dad :) My Dad who can fix anything! And he did... thank  you so much Pap!

We got there around 9:30am? I think that's right, but I'm pretty sure we left by 8:15... perfect timing really, as the water is always nicer in the morning...I hopped in first b/c the water looked soooo inviting....

And then Dad blew up the tubes! Lauren was first...

and then Lindsay!

We did not however, have a tube that these little girls could ride. So all the smiles that you see in the next few pics of them on a tube, are b/c we are not going anywhere :)

Cute picture though! Hopefully we can do this again next year, and maybe we can either find a different tube, or they'll be big enough for the donut.

Tube or no tube, they all had a fabulous time :)

ALL worth it for this mom... so again, thank you Mom & Dad for enduring the trip... Side note, I hope to have a comparison picture of the 5 of us in our own boat someday.... Lauren & Lindsay can pull me, and I'll pull all of them ;)

Lovin' every minute... and then our boating day ended. Potential storm coming, hunger, potty needs, etc, etc, etc :) We were on the lake for 3 to 4 hours, so really it was perfect timing.

But that wasn't the end of our fun for the day! Elle & Carson had been boating at Lake Cumberland with friends for the weekend, so we reunited and crashed Dawn & Gina's pool...

Neither were home yet, but they told us to make ourselves welcome, so we did ;)

Gina was the first to arrive... she changed into her suit and gave ALL the kids a ride like this! I didn't think I was going to keep this many of the pics, but I had too!

All of them... hilarious :)

Lindsay is the only 'crash' picture I put in here.. but this is the way they all ended ;)

And this girl tried to pull the "I need my swimmies"... she forgot she could swim! She remembered and did a great job :)

Superman!

So to say the least, she was exhausted after that!! Thank you Aunt Gina!

We ended up ordering pizza & wings from Mic's Market in Seven Mile, and they just kept swimming. Through the rain (they did get out and take a small break) but then back in the pool they went...

Even swimming into the dark! We didn't leave until 9:30pm?!? And had another huge day in front of us for Monday... yikes, Mom, not sure that was the best decision ;)

But! As Ashley said, "have the kids ever got to do that...." And they have not. Swim in the dark, swim in the rain, swim after supper :) So fun and worth it. Thank you Dawn & Gina for a wonderful time! Mimi snapped this, she found some of Dawn's old army clothes in her basement, so I put them on to surprise her :)
