Ohio visit #4 July 2015

Tuesday, July 21st

Was deemed our 2nd day for boating. I forgot to mention in the first boating post that Lauren & Lindsay both tried to get up with no success. We only had adult wooden skiis... and they are heavy and awkward and all those things you feel when you are in the water trying to put on skiis for the first time :) AND Lindsay's life jacket didn't fit that well, so that was double frustrating.

BUT! We had another shot at it (luckily) and Jeff Judd was super sweet and let us borrow his kid skiis! I was super pumped. Not without drama, but it ended up that Dad & I would take the big girls boating, and the little girls would stay with Mimi and Carson (b/c Carson had soccer that day). And as it ended up, that seemed to be the perfect combo :)

I had to put LeaAnn's drawing's in here... wish I was able to quick pull up a comparison drawing of the others at 4-4months... but I can't :)

And I had to keep this! Our grass heads that we made at the fair :)

We brought them with us to Ohio, b/c they were going to sprout while we were gone, and you have to keep them in water (and Chris was going to be gone 1/2 the time)... so they made the trip with us :)

Here are the little girls swimming at Ruby's pool that day...

While we did this!

Elle is a natural at steering the tube, much like her father :)

Elle the monkey - and she can shimmy up just about anything!

And then despite the water being really choppy (due to wind b/c there were not that many boats on the lake) we found a decent spot, and Lauren & Lindsay tried again... THANK YOU Lindsay for taking these!!!

And she got up! Lindsay is taping :) And it was an awesome feeling to see my oldest baby girl skiing away from me as I was left in the water... priceless really. :)

And then I hopped in the boat, you can see Elle & Lindsay in the background, and she got up all on her own :)

Lindsay did really well (I have no pics b/c Lauren & Elle were in the water with us) She was up too for about 5 seconds and then got tired... next year. I have no doubt!

And then we got the tube back out and the girls got on together :) It was hilarious.

So once again, thank you Mom & Dad for both making this opportunity possible for my kids. I am constantly reminded of the opportunities I was able to have and experience b/c you made them possible... and it's harder than it seems to give my kids the same ones...so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making this one possible.

At home chillin' :)

I had thought about driving home on Wednesday, but the last thing I wanted to do when we got home from boating was pack up. And I'm glad we didn't, b/c we had a successful school shopping day on Wednesday :)

And surprise! We picked the right spot :) Applebees has $.99 kids meals on Wednesday, score!

A few more games, and mom packed...

And then we headed to the pond after dinner. Without Carson :( b/c he was at soccer practice

Pap, can we have a fire? Not sure they'll ever learn that Pap doesn't do 'campfires' ... only bonfires ;)

Donnie showed up with their dog...

Who caught a mouse :)

Love, love.

We've come a long way from a few years ago... no one has life jackets on anymore to hang out on the dock ;)

And that was that. The girls and I left the next morning at 8:15am, made the drive in 8hrs-45minutes. Will never tire of saying what amazing and awesome travelers they are... b/c they are.  I stopped when I turned on the gravel and took this picture.

Should have video'd the Dad embrace :) was pretty sweet. Came home to a tall garden (that needed weeding ;)

and beautiful blue skies. Until next time Ohio... we love & miss you all!
