On the road to Cleveland...

Friday, May 11, 2011

Left southern Ohio right at noon, we were even ready & waiting on Donnie and crew! (that was a first ;) Drove about 3-hrs north and stopped here... can you guess where we are?!? Looks like Iowa to me!

maybe the ice-cream cones are a give-a-way?

Who is this?  LeaAnn was not yet walking... didn't happen until Friday night at my Aunt Jill & Uncle Brian's house...

Seriously! Doesn't this look like Iowa?  Who would have thought...

Regardless, it was a great place for a break... lots of room to run.

Literally! Cousins started racing :)

love the tongue hanging out here :)

brother/sister love :)

adorable :) love this picture

there are no words for this picture :) except that she'll be mad I have it one day - ha!

and who joins in the cousin races?  Pap of course...

Lauren in mid-action fall...

down for the count...

But she's up! Notice something in Pap's hands? Yup... an ice-cream cone. He's eating and running at the same time!!

Only my father...

Lydia helps "Waren" run back...

another challenger...

Love Lindsay 'talking' while running... she never stops :)  So... any last guesses as to where we are?

If you guessed, Mickey-D's... you were right!

 Thinking about it...

but .. it's a no-go ;)

Finally arrive at the hotel, and it's awesome! Pool-side rooms and everything! And we all have refrigerators! Which was a bonus for kid & adult beverages alike :)
Notice who's jumping ;) the tradition continues...

Lydia adored it...

and would not let go of Paaa-p! (she said it long & drawn out with a southern accent... we have no idea where she got it from :)

This was actually Saturday, May 12 in the morning.... big girls swimming.

super cute :)

It was nice water... but I was still cold, of course :)

After swimming, made a game plan to grab lunch and eat at a park in Bay Village that was close to the second house that Mom lived in. Very cool playground...

Making a friend... LeaAnn says, "Yup... I can walk now!"

After we left the park, we drove past the blue house in Bay, that Mom grew up in, and that I remember visiting when we were little. (When Grandma & Grandpa still lived in Ohio) The street still has the biggest & coolest oak trees I have ever seen.  It was very special to see it again. A perfect morning/afternoon leading up to the memorial in the evening.
From here we went back to the hotel and took naps... :) which is where the next post should come in, "Grandma's Memorial"
