Memorial weekend was the actual beginning to our summer... but it was kind of a disaster. The ultimate goal was to camp at Coffins Grove... which we did. Mimi came out for the week prior to help watch the kids while Chris & I worked, tried to buy a van, prep the camper, pull the camper over and go to 2 t-ball games. :) Friday Mimi leaves, I finish my last day at work, come home & finish packing, make a loop to pick up all the kids and head to the campground... FINALLY, summer had started.
Saturday, Chris had Jimmy's bachelor party, so though not intended, he was gone 90% of that day. (So even if I had packed my camera, which I didn't... I could not have taken pictures ;)
We managed, no one died (goose eggs on foreheads, bruises & cuts, yes :) but Lindsay started to feel crummy at the end of the day, no appetite and a little warm.... bummer. Get up the next morning, Sunday, and I feel a little under-the-weather? Chris arrived we all head home to naps and showers. Long story short, Chris & I both came down with fevers & a tummy bug.... yuck!!! No Hairball concert or bachelorette party for me! :(
We camped again Monday night w/the Wilgenbusch's and tried to rejuvenate ourselves from the day before. Kind-of a disappointing start to summer... but at least summer is here none-the-less! The week was filled with playing catch-up trying to make the house look like a house again and 1 more t-ball game. On Friday, the girls & I headed to Iowa City to Aunt Jill & Uncle Eric's house for a nice relaxing weekend... which proved to be what all of us needed, mentally & physically! :) I did pack my camera, but only got it out on
