Thanksgiving 2014 ~ part 2

Dinner w/Pap I think on Friday night :)

On our last day, Saturday, we started the day by taking all the kids to Bartels' Christmas tree farm 1-mile down the road! We grew up in church with the Bartels family, and the tree farm has been a work in progress for quite a few years now... and this winter was their grand opening.

All the kids piled in the way-back of the suburban ;)

A skip, hop & jump, we were there...

And they even offered horse-drawn wagon rides!

Sweet girls... the horses I'm talking about ;)

And the sweet man driving is Morris VanGordon

All the kids wanted to sit up front, I said "no" (imagine that ;) but Pap said, "yes"... and new knee and all, he picked everyone one of them individually and they got a turn to sit up front with Morris.

Thought I had a picture of Dad standing up talking to him... but didn't find it. Morris was super sweet and gave us an extended ride... I learned that Morris is the same age that Pap's Dad, Donnie, would have been. Morris' son & my dad were born in the same hospital at the same time. I found it touching...thanks for helping me get the facts right, Mimi :)

Before heading for home for hot chocolate, mom stopped in and purchased a wreath!

A quick trip through the trees...

It finally did warm up a bit, the wind is what made it so chilly while at the tree farm... kids had fun playing PIG and HORSE

After nap, check out LeaAnn reading... melt. my. heart.

And that night we dressed up for our annual trip to Neiderman's farm. Not without stopping at Cassano's Pizza first of course ;)

The kids did an amazing job taking turns and reading the versus that were at every station...

So many lights and we definitely thought there was more lights and new additions this year...

It's huge!

And cold, but not freezing... so it was really nice.

And b/c it was so nice out, we actually went through the 'petting zoo' this year too :) Though we didn't want our fun to end... it had to and back to Mimi & Pap's we went. Headed out the next morning... with a promise to the kids that it would only be 4 more weeks and we'd be back! :) Thanks Mimi & Pap for an amazing Thanksgiving!
